How to Get an API Key

  1. Visit https://platform.openai.com/api-keys and sign in to your OpenAI account.
  2. Click create new secret key, name it, and copy the value before leaving the page.
  3. Set usage limits in the Platform billing/settings area as needed, then call the official API with the key.
  4. If the key leaks, revoke it immediately and create a replacement in the same UI.
